William Ruschenberger

William Samuel Waithman Ruschenberger (1807–1895) was a surgeon in the United States Navy, a naturalist, and an author. He served in various naval medical and scientific roles, was president of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia, and wrote several works on natural history based on his naval service and investigations.
