Wilhelm Busch

Wilhelm Busch (1832–1908) was a German humorist, poet, illustrator, and painter, best known for his satirical picture stories with rhymed texts. His most famous work, Max und Moritz, published in 1865, is a darkly humorous tale of two mischievous boys and has had a lasting cultural impact, inspiring future comic artists and becoming a classic of German literature.
