Walter Rodney

Walter Rodney (1942-1980) was a Guyanese historian, political activist, and scholar recognized as one of the Caribbean's most brilliant minds. He earned a PhD in African History at age 24 and was a leading figure in the anticolonial revolution, authoring influential works on colonialism, race, and class. He was assassinated in 1980 due to his revolutionary activism.
