Susanna Moodie

Susanna Moodie (1803–1885) was an English-born Canadian author known for her vivid accounts of settler life in Canada. She immigrated to Canada in 1832 and wrote about the hardships and realities of pioneer life, contrasting the idealized images promoted by British advertisers. Her work remains a significant part of Canadian literary history.
