Sam K. Cowan

Sam Kinkade Cowan (b. 1869) was a Nashville-born freelance journalist and author who wrote extensively about Sergeant Alvin York, one of the most decorated American soldiers of World War I. He graduated from Montgomery Bell Academy and studied at Vanderbilt University. Cowan worked in general newspaper roles and as an editor before becoming a magazine and newspaper syndicate writer.
