Richard Proenneke

Richard Louis Proenneke (1916–2003) was an American self-educated naturalist, conservationist, writer, and wildlife photographer. From about age 51, he lived alone for nearly thirty years in a hand-built log cabin in the Alaskan wilderness near Twin Lakes. He documented his life and observations in detailed journals and films.
