Reuben Gold Thwaites

Reuben Gold Thwaites (1853–1913) was an American librarian, historian, and editor known for his leadership of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. He authored biographies of Daniel Boone and Jacques Marquette, and edited important historical collections such as The Jesuit Relations and the Original Journals of Lewis and Clark. Thwaites was recognized for his immersive approach to history and held presidencies in major historical and library associations.
