Martha Finley

Martha Finley (1828–1909) was an American teacher and author best known for her 28-volume Elsie Dinsmore series, published over 38 years. Her works are characterized by strong religious themes and moral lessons, reflecting her Presbyterian upbringing. She wrote primarily for young readers but did not limit herself exclusively to children's literature.
