Maria Hummel

Maria Hummel is an American novelist, poet, and essayist. She has received prestigious awards including the APR/Hickman First Book Prize for her poetry collection 'House and Fire,' and fellowships such as the Wallace Stegner Fellowship, Pushcart Prize, and Bread Loaf Fellowship. Hummel has worked as an arts editor and journalist, experiences that inform her novels, and she is a professor at the University of Vermont.
