Logan Pearsall Smith

Logan Pearsall Smith (1865–1946) was an American-born British essayist, literary critic, and aphorist known for his polished observations and expertise on the English language. Educated at Harvard and Oxford, he lived most of his life in England and was a founder of the Society for Pure English. His works include collections of aphorisms, literary criticism, and biographies.
