John Bellairs

John Bellairs (1938–1991) was an American author best known for his fantasy novel The Face in the Frost and a series of Gothic mystery novels for children and young adults featuring characters like Lewis Barnavelt, Johnny Dixon, and Anthony Monday. He wrote primarily Gothic fantasy adventures aimed at elementary and middle-school children, blending elements of the fantastic with autobiographical experiences. Bellairs passed away in 1991, leaving behind unfinished manuscripts that were later completed by Brad Strickland.
