John A. Keel

John A. Keel (1930-2009) was an American journalist and influential ufologist born in Hornell, New York. He began writing professionally at age 12 and became best known for his paranormal investigations and writings, especially The Mothman Prophecies. Keel's work combined journalism with Fortean and paranormal research, influencing many in the field.
