Gene Stratton Porter

Gene Stratton-Porter (1863–1924) was an American author, naturalist, and nature photographer from Indiana. She was a best-selling novelist known for her romantic and moralistic novels rooted in nature, and she was also a pioneering woman in the film industry, founding her own production company. Stratton-Porter was a dedicated conservationist who advocated for the preservation of wetlands like the Limberlost Swamp.
