Epictetus

Epictetus was a Greek Stoic philosopher born around 50 CE in Hierapolis, Phrygia, who was originally a slave. After gaining his freedom, he became a prominent teacher of Stoicism, founding a school in Nicopolis and influencing many through his teachings. His philosophy emphasizes personal freedom, self-discipline, and acceptance of fate.
