Eleanor H. Porter

Eleanor Emily Hodgman Porter (1868–1920) was an American novelist best known for creating the Pollyanna series, which became a popular phenomenon. Originally trained as a singer, she turned to writing after her marriage in 1892 and achieved considerable commercial success with her uplifting children's literature and romance fiction.
