Donald A. Wollheim

Donald Allen Wollheim (1914–1990) was an American science fiction author, editor, and publisher. He was a pioneering figure in science fiction, instrumental in moving the genre from pulp magazines to mass-market books, and founded DAW Books, the first publisher specializing solely in science fiction and fantasy. Wollheim was also a prolific anthologist and editor, discovering many notable authors and contributing significantly to the field.
