Damon Galgut

Damon Galgut is a South African novelist and playwright born in Pretoria in 1963. He wrote his first novel at 17 and has since become a prominent literary figure, winning the Booker Prize in 2021 for his novel The Promise. His work often explores South African sociopolitical history and human themes through innovative narrative styles.
