Charles Ellms

Charles Ellms (1805-1851) was a Boston stationer who transitioned from trade to popular writing and compiling almanacs after 1830. He is best known for his historical compilations on pirates and shipwrecks, notably 'The Pirates Own Book' published in 1837. Little is known about his personal life, including his birth, education, or death.
