Carolyn Haines

Carolyn Haines, born May 12, 1953, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, is a prolific mystery author known for her Sarah Booth Delaney series set in the Mississippi Delta. She has received critical acclaim and multiple literary awards, including the 2010 Harper Lee Award for Alabama's Distinguished Writer of the Year and the 2009 Richard Wright Award for Literary Excellence. Haines is also an animal activist and former journalist.
