Barbara Kingsolver

Barbara Kingsolver is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist, essayist, and poet born in 1955. She grew up in rural Kentucky and holds degrees in biology and ecology. Kingsolver is known for her commitment to social justice, environmental themes, and human resilience, often weaving these into her fiction and nonfiction works. She lives on a farm in southern Appalachia and has established the Bellwether Prize to support socially engaged fiction.
