Anthony Hope

Sir Anthony Hope Hawkins (1863–1933), known as Anthony Hope, was a British novelist and playwright best known for his adventure novels. He was a lawyer before turning to full-time writing after the success of The Prisoner of Zenda. His works are noted for their high-spirited and often ironic tone.
